It’s beginning to look a lot like this New Year of 2021 MAY be shaping up OK in some areas at least.
For me, it’s a most personal success on this, the 4th day of the year.
I have just been given the link to an international bilingual monthly journal in Pittsburgh, USA, called SETU that contains 6 of my poems in its December 2020 publication.
I have more pleasure than you can imagine in sharing the news of their publication, as my dabbling in poetry is quite recent, and this is a most delightful success for me. I am seriously shocked—and honoured.
I love each of them, but here is one that is kind of special, I think, in this sad time the world has been suffering. I love this photo to represent what I wrote —
I DON’T UNDERSTAND
I can walk with you and talk with you.
Be a rare kind of friend.
Share your pain and grief with you.
Might not ease your aching body,
but your sorrowful heart?
Surely, I could help that.
Can’t you see it in my eyes?
I don’t want it this way…
Not when someone like you,
looking deeply into my eyes,
sinking into the profundity of their truth,
knows how I’m crying deep, deep inside.
You must see?
I grieve for those with eyes,
but no sight, … or no insight?
Maybe no-one can reach that dark place of our soul.
We DO have a soul… don’t we?
