‘I’m late, I’m late for
A very important date’ said a famous White Rabbit.
Elsewhere, a heart-throb to many a winsome young lady was guilty of this same laxity in the punctuality stakes.
He’d boast about the vast number of sweethearts he’d wooed, always insisting —
“You take the girl by the hand and the mother by the heart”
He was quite gorgeous… but he was ALWAYS late!
I had nightmares before our wedding.
A constantly recurring one saw me searching nearby pubs… in my wedding dress and veil, nursing my bouquet.

August 21 prompt: ‘narrow’
Bright Life vs Tight Life
A two-bedroom home in Canada has sold for nearly $2 million!
It’s a tiny, single-storey weatherboard that is one room and (assumedly) a passageway wide, tucked into a narrow block with a side walkway between a pair of two-storey homes.
They’re slim as well, but this one has to be THE Jenny Craig of the street.
The bathroom boasts a bath with shower over, a toilet and a hand-basin in a sardine-can-type setting.
The agent didn’t stipulate long, lean buyers (uhrr, but NOT in their pockets), although it’s believed well-endowed ‘lookers’ were warned.

August 28 prompt: ‘quality’
The TALL and the small of it All
Look! A mother and child?
43g. (1.5 ounces) and 105g. (3.7ounces) — laid by the same brown hens producing variation in shades of eggs from deep, almost reddish brown to the palest cream; ALL fed the exact same grain/layer pellets, weeds/worms, and kitchen waste.
‘Sunnyside up’ are our eggs; sunshine smiling from every one.
One customer gave a dozen to her ageing city mother, and luckily was there when they were all to be tipped down the sink. Crime? —‘impossibly yellow’.
SO many years since she’d seen a real quality farm egg, mother thought they were ‘off’.
