When she discovered the Dandelion Puff-balls flew far away with her ‘P’ words, Skyla was delighted.
It took but a few minutes’ thought, then there was simply no stopping her. Tilting her head way back, she closed her eyes, put her small sweet lips close to a cluster of the little fuzzies, and giving free rein to her boundless imagination she chanted –
“Please I pray, puff out perfect purple puppies and pretty purring pussycats…”
until only a few fuzz balls remained, when she giggled and puffed,
“POW, POW, POW!” before resuming her cheerful skipping down the overgrown garden path.
Author’s Note: This was written for another ‘small’ challenge elsewhere, last year… but it was even shorter (by about 20 or more words). Imagine, if you will, the task of having to expand it – a novel change from the usual word-pinching that happens with Drabbles!
