Alas, 2014 is one of the painful years when I have no ‘antique’ Far Side calendar to match the bright New Year.
On this day back in 2003, I faced a year of ‘Non Sequitur’ cartoons, and here I am again, a decade + later, facing the same semi-gloomy future.
Here is the coloured cartoon on the box cover – the rest of the calendar is black and white.
… and here is the very first one for the first day of this hopeful New Year –
But I miss Gary Larson. His brand of insanity tilts my world to a perfectly acceptable angle, every morning. I’m addicted to my daily dose of his humour… I’ll freely admit it.
Ah well, only a year to go (sighs, tears up a bit), and then… (drum roll please), I can resuscitate my 1998 Far Side calendar.
I can do it… I know I can.
Heck, I gave up smoking just over 20 years ago. (That took quite a few trial runs, mind you… but I did it!)
PS: My 2012 Far Side calendar won’t shine again until 2040, and it’s in waiting, with a sticker on it. Owzat for optimism? I’ll only be 94 that year… hmm!!
